Does the fire dept have the right to come onto my property whenever they choose?

.    No.   But they don't have to get your permission to put out a fire.

The fire department has the right to come onto your property in the event of an emergency or to take action required to protect the life or property of yourself or others.

They can't just come on your property willy nilly with no legal purpose. They have to have a legitimate purpose as explained above. Any abuses of this legal privilege should be reported to the Fire Chief's office.

Personal property/residence no, but if you own a business they can come in at anytime and inspect for occupancy, fire hazards or any other violations.~
