I'm thinking about having LASIK surgery on my eyes but I'm afraid. Has anyone else here had it done? If so, how was your procedure? Do you have any problems

  1. No, it doesn't. It's commonly accepted fact that the lasik corneal flap is much weaker than what G-d gave you.

Aside from that, there are more than one or two lasik horror stories of extreme side effects. Because of those side effects, I stand by my opinion that you should NOT go cutting into healthy tissue and risk your most precious sense- your sight- for little reason.

I strongly suggest reading this story and asking yourself if it is what you want for the rest of your life. And maybe this side effect is rarely so extreme, but it is the risk you will take.

  2. My best friend had hers done - twice on one side, once on the other.  She went from pop bottle glasses to nothing.  She does wear glasses when driving at night, only to help with eye fatigue though - not because she has to correct the vision.

She had it done in Canada when it was a new surgery.  It's come a long way since then.
