  1. The GPS will work anywhere, as long as it can find a satellite.

Different models of Garmin's Nuvi GPSs come pre-loaded with different maps:

    • ALL models have maps for the 48 contiguous United States, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.

    • All models EXCEPT 200, 200W, 205, and 205W also include Alaska and Canada.

    • The 270, 370, 670 and 770 also include European maps.

Garmin also sells maps for other areas as add-ons.

  2. The other answer covers the maps very nicely.  And, yes, the Garmin will work outside of the US.  The GPS satellite system covers the entire globe and all countries.

  3. There are Garmin's that come pre-loaded with maps of like Europe etc.  For example the Garmin 370.  If you already have a Garmin, I would check with Garmin and see if maps for the other countries you have in mind can be purchased.

If you don't already have a GPS, then I suggest shopping around - some GPS's are known to work better in Europe than others. (Mainly because that's where some GPS's got their start)

On this website from Garmin, you can see maps from Europe, Malaysia etc.  Check it out - if you don't have the maps, you'll have to purchase them.

    Good luck to ya!
