Does the gold star show my favorite places or only places I have visited over 2 weeks.?

I would like to save some favorite places to go back to after 2 weeks, but can't seem to figure it out. Is it possible to input certain web addresses to my favorites without actually visiting those pages every couple of weeks?

Under the gold star are three headings:  Favorites, History, and Feeds.  Favorites show the places you have added to your favorites list; history shows all the web sites you have visited for as long as your computer keeps history links.
