I was wondering if the greenhouse effect affects the growth of mold on fruit? I am performing an experiment and covered the fruit with a cardboard box. Does the greenhouse effect have anything to do with it? Professional answers only please.

  1. NO!

  2. sure does

    mold loves the greenhouse effect

humid, intense warmth, perfect for mould

  3. Well it depends if you are heating the inside of the box with something other than a cardboard box.

Greenhouse gases let heat in but not out, so yes if you conduct the experiment the right way mold should be more prone to growing in a warm environment than if it was out in the open.
