  1. I drive slower but make the same # of trips

  2. Yeah, i only use the car only when I need to, watch my speed, no unnecessary trips.

  3. yes

I live in DC area so I started taking the Metro to and from work. Now I get gas every 8 weeks instead of every week.

  4. i think most people can say "yes, some". i dont think it really really start to affect people a lot until gas prices hit 5 to 7 a gallon.

  5. I delay or bundle up all my errands on one trip

and I stay home spending my free time on Yahoo Answers

  6. No i found with my car (Mercedes C250 TD) i get the same mpg no matter how i drive it ? 35 mpg combined and 26 mpg city.

  7. Yeah, no more Saturday trips into town.

  8. No.

Why?  Because I drive a metro.  It will only go 70 mph, maybe 75mph before the little 13 inch tires, have a hard time.  Also my odometer stops at 85 mph.

Do I drive as much, not really, not at least just to get out of the house.  I go to work 5 to 6 days a week, will attend college again in August and will go to school 2 or 3 days a week, and go to Arkansas 2 days a week to teach taekwondo.  I do get reimbursed for gasoline though for the taekwondo, which is a great advantage.  However, I have caught myself, when I don't have to work Sundays not going out of town as much, to go to martial arts touranments, and I don't visit my folks every weekend, though they are only about 60 miles round trip away.  I see them about once a month.

I am glad my car still gets great gas milage, compared to many people I know.

It doesn't affect the way I drive, just the amount that I do.

  9. the speed of my driving- NO

the amout of driving I do- yes definetly

  10. I have slowed a bit and drive my car more gently. I don't go over 60 if I can help it and just that has saved me 3-4 MPG. I also drive less.

I am looking at other things to do now as an alternative.

  11. Yes. I used to be a very aggressive driver, quick acceleration, drive fast. I was filling up (at around $60/tank) every fourth day.  My new game is to see how high I can get my MPG rating on my dash computer.  Now I fill up once per week and sometimes even have gas left over.

I never used to believe accelerating and driving slower made that big of a difference, but what a difference it has made!

  12. yes it is...it will make me think a lot befor i go to anywhere by car
