I'm thinking of buying one but apparently it's hard-drive memory is more breakable than the mainstream flash memory, is this true?

  1. no unless u stomp on it or you throw it hard. my ipod fell one time completely harmless worked just fine

  2. Yes, the hard drive is more vulnerable than the flash-based players because it has moving parts. However, I've had my Classic for a year and a half, and have even dropped it a couple of times, and have had no problems with it. Keeping it in a protective case as much as possible will help prevent most major damage.

I also suggest buying the extended warranty (AppleCare).

  3. all ipods break eventuly but most 1s including the ipod classic breaks about  1 and a half years after u buy it
