Does the lie angle mean that much in a driver??

I stand 5'10 and from wrists to floor about 34" Also, I am trying to choose between the Cleveland XL and the Adams Insight XTD A303.

  2. For most weekend warriors and recreational golfers, the lie angle isn't going to be that apparent.

    If you can, I'd suggest demo-ing some drivers (including the two you mention, but more if possible) and see what looks, feels, and sounds best to you. If you're not comfortable, you won't be confident, and you need to be both to really enjoy and excel at this game.

    That said, I've never heard a bad word about the HiBore line... but I haven't swung either the HiBore or that particular Adams myself.

  3. Lie angle means a lot in all clubs.  Your build sounds like you probably could hit a standard lie, but you should get fitted to be sure.  Lie angle isn't so much about your size, as it is about if you swing more upright or flatter than a normal swing plane.

  4. Lie angle has an effect with every club.Your swing plane will determine the lie angle for the driver. Have it fitted by a good pro not some schlump who is trying to sell or buy a club.
