I have never heard of it so I am guessing not. The actual show is filmed at sea world on the gold coast (broadbeach).

Mako Island does not exist, it's a made up place for the show. I have a 13 year old daughter that loves to watch the episodes on Disney Channel.

The show is filmed at Sea World on the Gold Coast, with outdoor school scenes filmed at Somerset College.
