Does the medicine tablet Lisinopril cause irritation to the throat as a side affect?

we've seen a lot of allergic reactions to Lisinopril in the ER that I work in.  Mostly swollen lips & tongue, but sometimes itchy throat, annoying dry cough. Check with your doctor.

it is known for causing a hacking cough, especially. if this is happening, a similar medication called an Angiotensin II receptor blocker can be substituted.

side note: how long have you been on the med? docs usually like to give it at least 4-6 weeks before switching. side effects of most drugs, like sore throat, are usually temporary. the chronic cough, however, is cause for changing medication.
