Perhaps that would explain many things we find puzzling in world affairs. Maybe that is the true world power, the admirals and generals. Some bonding and fundamental understanding that most of us cannot imagine. Comments?

  1. Jeez, Admirals and Generals want to exercise their power and that is the military use of it.  So, the Israeli military trained the Georgian missile defense people in order to check out how their systems work ( see below,

they did the best). Of course, this was done after the political folks gave the OK.  The Russians have supplied the Iranians with the Tor missile defense which already needs upgrading due to Israeli advanced in computer take over of launch systems ( jamming is so crude these days) Of course this was done after the political folks gave the OK.  There is a Great Petropolitical Game going on for resources in the mid East and not just oil.  Iran has minerals and Uranium especially.  War is just an extension of politics so watch the political figures and not the generals.

so in short, my answer to your question is, NO.

  2. The only common bond would be a sense of mutual respect for people who share many of the same values and ideals - but serve under different flags.

The military-industrial complex is no different than any other relationship between customers and suppliers.

  3. Both countries have not ratified major international treaties on human rights, war crimes etc.

Both countries have not ratified the international treaty on cluster bombs

  4. Its not US and Russian  military complex , both Imperialism ( USA, UK, Germany, France, etc) and the Russian bureaucracy of the "Communist" Party are partners since a long time ago.
