Does the name aurelia really make people think of areolla?

Question

I want to name my child miriam allegra, miriam aurelia or Aurelia Carmen but i had a comment from someone saying it looked like areolla.

if i have a girl i dont want her to be teased but its a beautiful rare name that i love and it means golden which is really pretty.

What is ur opinion?

I like Aurelia very much. It does not remind me at all of areola (some people can't read!), and I doubt your daughter would ever be teased about it.

before i even finished reading the question that is the first thing i thought of was areolla..

I would never have thought of areolla when I saw Aurelia. I think that Aurelia is a lovely name. I love Aurelia Carmen. It's beautiful.

I also don't think that any possible ressemblance to areolla would be a big deal, as it is not a word that one learns until late high school. I doubt that your daughter would be teased about it.

That is the first thing I thought of when I saw Aurelia.  I wasn't even done reading the question and thought "why would she name her chile areolla?"  Sorry...It sounds like a beautiful name, but it's so close ot areolla.

Actually, the name Ariel always makes me think of areola, but I still love it. But no, Aurelia doesn't. However, it looks really difficult to say. I would probably go with Miriam Aurelia or Aurelia Carmen.

No, I dont think so. A lot of people are probably like "whats an areolla?' My brother had a girl in her grade that was named Aurelia and the only reason I remember is because she died in a car accident. But I think its a beautiful name.

I did not think that at all, and if anyone thinks that they are not going to tell you or make a big deal about it. Allegra is an allergy medication though.

Its a beautiful name, but keep in mind that kids can be cruel and if you do have a girl she will most likely be teased due to the names likeness to areolla....is it worth putting your child through that just for a pretty name?
