Im planning to write GMAT ( for getting into ISB) / GRE(for gng abroad) after my engg.

My doubt is ...

- Is the coll. we study given importance in the selections...I mean 2 say if im from a normal state level coll.having a decent engg. percentage and gud GMAT score and other is 4m BITS/ NIT ...wat wld me my chances...

Plz.. do ans. depending on ur ans. i shld decide whether i take an other chance for AIEEE or i continue my first yr. from state level engg. coll.

plzzzzzzzz....

there are two points really troubling me to take the right decision..

1. coll. like BITS / NIT r very gud..studying at at coll. is a drm *** true..the placemnts ..the quality edu. is awesome..

2. if i drop a yr. for BITS/NIT though i got a seat in state engg. coll..it wld b foolish ...as they say wasting time one whole yr. may be a big loss.. which one can never repay..

im helpless ..shld i drop a yr. or contd wid engg from state level coll..

  1. Yes the name of the MBA institution matters. The good ones require an undergraduate degree and good GMAT score plus some work experience. Find the school best for you in the Official MBA Guide, a free service.

  2. Dont drop a year just for getting into BITS/NIT. If you consider going abroad, then the uni u study in is not really that important. The course structure is very important. And if you go abroad, then getting a job with a good resume and good academic performance is not a big deal. The case is totally different scenario when u choose to study in India.

The persons who study in BITS/NIT get good starters. It means they either get into really good companies or they get paid good salary. But, that doesnt mean that u cant go there. They have a better start in their career, but that doesnt meant that they have a better career. You can anytime be better than them. And wasting a year is totally not the right thing to do. If u do well academically, u can come up where ever you are put up. This is just my view. Hope it helps. All the best..!
