  1. I'm afraid not.  There's just lots and lots of fish.

I think its a great thing to see, though.

If you do opt to go, wait until about 2 months before your trip and order an entertainment book for DC and Northern Virginia ( www.entertainment.com ) and see if they have a coupon for the aquarium.  I always buy the book when it goes onsale and use it for the 1 or 2 weekend trips I make to DC during the year.  I've found some great restaurants that way!!

  2. I don't believe so. But if you care to venture about 30-40 minutes north into Baltimore, Maryland, the National Aquarium in Baltimore is one of the best aquariums in the world. I have a full year membership to the place and it never gets old. They have a dolphin arena, with impressive shows all day long, not to mention other great exhibits.

  3. The National Aquarium in Washington, DC is a small affair--no dolphins or large creatures.  It's worth seeing if you're into fish.  The aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland--about 40 minutes north of Washington, is a very much larger place, with dolphins and just about any fish you'd like to see.

  4. My husband and I were just there in May and were very disappointed.  Basically it was just filled with fish in the basement of a building.  It is not worth the money to see in our opinion!

  5. nope - no dolphins
