  1. They need the IMEI.

  2. Yes they will, but there are a number of ways of getting this number, not all of which need access to the phone.

With the phone you can open the back and find it in the battery compartment, or press *#06# on the screen.

Without the phone in front of you, your options are more limited.

If you bought it on contract, the IMEI will be printed on the contract, usually near the phone number.  The network will also have it, as IMEI numbers are always kept by the network, when they're linked to a contract phone.

If the phone is on PAYG, then the only hope is that you pre-registered the phone when you bought it; otherwise you're stuck.

In any case, you should ring the network immediately to see what they can do.

  3. No. As long as you can prove you're the account holder they'll be able to get the IMEI from any outgoing call detail record.

  4. They will be able to reconcile the imei to the mobile no.

  5. just the phone number assigned to that phone.
