  1. The elite version, which came out this year, had supposedly fixed that problem.

But if you google it many people have still had problems with the "3 rings of death"

So i guess the answer to your question is yes, the new xbox still has that problem.

  2. Here's a quick rundown for you.

All versions of the Xbox 360 have been and always WILL be prone to the rrod.  Now, the newer versions get them MUCH less.  Here are a few ways to ensure you don't get a red ring of death.

    - Keep the power supply off of carpet surfaces.

    - Keep the system off of carpet

    - Keep both of them out of an enclosed space

    - Possibly put a fan near the system and power supply.

If you do get a red ring, turn your console off for about an hour, and start it back up.  If you still have it, unhook all cables for a moment then only reconnect the the power supply and video/audio cables.  If the system then works, reconnect all accessories one at a time.  If one of them causes you to get a red ring, there's your problem.

  3. the new ones not as much but the elites have the rrod but somehow the system servives it

  4. Elites have the Falcon chipset which means the CPU is using a 65nm core instead of the older 90nm so won't overheat. However GPU is the same so the Falcon's still overheat. Wait a month or 2 and the Jasper will be out. That will sort the RROD for good but if u can't wait then new Falcon is the best bet.

Failure rate of old 360: 30%

Failure rate of new Falcon 360: 10%
