Does the nfl get new equipment before every game?

I've mainly been wondering this for Cleats and Helmets, but Shoulder Pads could apply here too I guess.

Because yeah I was just curious, wouldn't it be a HUGE waste of money though if they did?? Thousands of dollars every week or so.... in just equipment, and what do they do with the old equipment that they already wore??

  1. new footballs....not pads and helmets...maybe cleats if the need is there.....

  2. If they did they would not need lockers. maybe new cleats every year but I think they keep the same equipment for awhile even though they are rich.

  3. They do not, and they would not want it.

For those who want/need new shoes those are readily available from sponsors and cost the team nothing.

  4. they try to re use stuff, but they don't hesitate at all to get new ones. they make a lot of d**n money.

  5. No, think about how much a new pair of cleats suck, they gotta get broken in, and besides that only if it gets broken or worn out but pretty sure only jersys are the new things they get

and i lol when you said a waste of money.....dude NFL is the biggest money sport in the world, look at the contracts compared to other sports and then think a baskettball team has 10 players a football team has 53 players plus a practice squad of about 30 more players they have to pay .....they could more then afford to buy new everything but they wouldnt cause it would just be ignorant

  6. depends on the player. Pads are reused. The same helmet is worn for each game. Cleats are probably changed for every game. You say a waste of money but that's not true. Most of those uniforms are given to the NFL for free by the manufacturer. Like in basketball certain players have endorsements to wear their products so they're given new for every game. Just so the manufacturers of the jersey's and cleats get their name out there for advertising. The NFL probably doesn't spend too much money because everything is free.

  7. i have no idea

  8. The cleats, all of the pads, and the uniform stay the same. The only thing that changes are, if you wear gloves, you receive a new pair every week. That is not cheap either considering most gloves cost about $50. Their helmets  also get refurbished and repainted before every game. That isn't cheap either. About $100 a helmet.

  9. You're right that it would burn a hole through the NFL's pocket. In some cases, I want to say that some of the equipment is reused.
