  1. I've seen a few days before a fight..

  2. The official weigh in has to be conducted within a set amount of hours before the scheduled start time of the event. It varies from state to state, in California weigh ins are usually held within 30 hours of event.

In championship fights there is a 30 day & a 7 day weigh in, both fighters are checked at these times in order to make sure that they are within the weight range to make the actual fight weight.

  3. It is generally the day before for professional boxing.  It may be whenever both camps and the promoter have agreed upon, unless for a title match, in which case the rules of whichever alphabet soup organisation is sanctioning the match control it.  In the amateurs, it is frequently same day, like 9:00 AM for matches beginning at 2:00 PM.
