Does the olympic equestrian team use their own horses during the olympics?

if so how do they transport them? i saw a documentary where horses were transported by plane and they said it was dangerous as well as unhealthy for the horses. some of them died.

if they fly the horses wouldn't that put the team more at risk?

  2. Yes they use their own horses. I think this is one reason the Equestrian is being done in Hong Kong, is because of quarantine laws in China as a whole. I can't be sure on that exactly.

    I know that in the Melbourne Olympics in 1956 that the Equestrian events were held in Stockholm in Sweden, due to Australia's quarantine laws at the time.

I think they have their own horses, considering they train with them for hours one end would s***w up the routine considering your horse is used to to your touch, I would assume they are in a horse trailer until they reach the ocean and are most likely loaded on to a large ferry or boat and brought over, I don't know for a fact but that would seem logical to me!
