Does the outside runner have a disadvantage in the hurdle races?

Sorry if this ? went through twice, but I didn't see it come up so I thought I would try it again. I just started watching these races in the Olympics and don't understand how they work. Are the runners in the outside lane at a disadvantage or are do the times incorporate the further distance they are running being on the outside?

  1. They all run the same distance. That's why you see the runner in lane one so far behind the runner in lane eight, it compensates the distance lost on the turn.  


  2. No, because the outside runner starts closer to the finish than the inside runner so they run the exact same distance.
