I had this boyfriend in France when i was there for 3 months on exchange and now I'm back and want to talk to him. I called him once on his cell phone and that used up all his credits on the phone! Does it cost him anything if I call his house from mine? I have a pretty good long-distance plan. Will he have to pay anything if I call him at home? Thanks.

  1. For starters, if you're in the US and calling France, you WILL be paying international long distance.

As far as it costing him, if you're calling his cell phone then he'll have to use any normal minutes he would as a normal call. If you call his house phone, it SHOULDN'T, but you're in for a large long distance bill.

  2. Yes you will because I tried calling my girlfriend and I had to pay for it!

  3. 1st, make sure you have a good "international plan" from your provider, but to answer your question, no, he will not pay ANY long distance if you are the one who has placed the call. Difference cell phone providers handle international incoming or outgoing calls differently, so I would have him call his cell provider to have him make sure that he is not being charged extra for incoming international calls, but on a land phone, you have absolutely nothing to worry about.
