Does the person you're calling with a phone card have to pay?

I'll be calling my host family and friends in Japan from America with a phone card. However, I am wondering if my host family and friends have to pay for the cost of the international call even though I'm using a phone card. (I'm the one who's paying for the cost of the international call right?)

Yes you pay. Not them. That's really polite of you not to want them charge.

As long as you use the phone card you will be the only one to pay.
