Does the physical shot for 7th grade hurt?

You are most likely getting a tetnus shot and yes it will hurt. Your arm will also be sore for a few days.

It generally just feels like a little prick. It doesn't hurt for long. I'm not sure what shots they give in 7th grade, but if Tetanus is included, you may feel sore afterward. Also, DTP can give you mild flu like symptoms.

just make sure you masage your arm after cuz last year mine started to like swell up

I played sports from 5 yrs old up through college and have never had to get a shot for a physical. That just doesn't seem right. I would look for another doctor. I had one try to do blood work once but I left the appointment and went elsewhere because it wasn't necessary and he was just trying to charge me extra for no reason.

Anything that puncture your skin is going to hurt. But it is just a little sting or pinch. It's not going to feel like you just got a limb or anything cut off. Just take a deep breathe and don't look. Have someone talk to you while it is being done, to distract your attention from the pain. I don't remember getting a shot for the 7th grade.  Unless times has changed. The only shot I ever got was for immunizations.  I didn't have to get a shot during my physicals. What are they saying the purpose of the shot is for? Asks your physician some questions before going through with it.  Ask him/her the reason for you getting the shot, because no one else that you've talked to has received a shot for a 7th grade physical. Unless it's that vaccination for cervical cancer. The one that is on the commercial ( "I want to be one less," I think that's it). Good Luck! : )

Yes, all vaccinations hurt to some degree. But it is over in less than 30seconds. Close your eyes, picture a tranquil waterfall and imagine that you can hear the rush of water, a warm breeze on your face, etc. I also used to picture my crush and I never felt the shot. Good luck!
