Question:

Does the pregnancy of the daughter of a Vice Presidential candidate need to be an issue in this campaign?

You can agree or disagree with Sarah Palin on issues, and whether or not she is "qualified" to be Vice President, but what has her daughter to do with this?

I thought family should not be an issue in this campaign. I fail to see how this woman's daughter being pregnant is an issue. Or also how she is a hypocrite.

Thanks!

  1. She has nothing to do with it really. Its just mud slinging, as usual. Its not like so many other parents, regardless of religion or political party, haven't dealt with the same issue before.

  2. It becomes an issue because Bristol is underage and pregnant and Palin advocates abstinence only teachings in school. It doesn't help Palin's case for abstinence only if her own underage daughter is now pregnant.

  3. No it should not be an issue.  What SHOULD be an issue is Palin's complete and utter lack of qualifications for VP.  Heck, Urkel has more experience than she does:

    He'd be a better pick!

  4. No it makes no difference.  What makes a difference is she is not qualified for the job of VP and certainly isn't qualified to be President.  This is the most qualified person McCain could find to be VP?  I think he didn't look too hard.

The fact that the McCain campaign says the following, means more of the same (I'll tell you what's good for you):

"The McCain campaign will have no further comment about our long and thorough process. This nonsense is over."

  5. No it shouldn't be an issue, but Palin has opposed s*x ed in the schools, contraception AND abortion. She is running as a moral family values candidate. Yet she was dishonest with McCain's vetters and kept her daughter's 5 month pregnancy a secret up until the day she was chosen. In my view, that taints her as a candidate. And why is she planning on parading her daughter and the boyfriend in front of the national media on Thursday. If she wanted them to have their privacy, then she'd keep them out of the public eye. Instead, she's using them for political purposes - to shore up her credentials as a foe of abortion rights.

  6. its an issue because republicans make sexul morality an issue whether its Clintin,Hart,Edwards, etc but when its one of theirs it does not matter. I wqould rather talk bout fuel prices

  7. If the said candidate advocates teaching children abstinence only and makes it state policy, I'm reluctantly inclined to say yes.  The daughter shouldn't be the issue but the policy should.

The abstinence programs do nothing to teach kids how to protect themselves from STD's and unwanted pregnancies should they choose to have s*x (and most of them do).  There is nothing wrong with including it. It's 100% effective but teaching only abstinence is irresponsible and reckless.

This failure put her daughter (and every other kid in her state) at risk of unwanted pregnancy and STD's including HIV/AIDS.  It's time to grow up America and stop pretending that people do not have s*x.

And let's not forget that Sarah Palin choose to make this public by announcing it.

  8. You must have something covering your eyes, becouse from here its pretty obious.

  9. Because Palin is against s*x ed, pro abstinence only  and against reproductive rights.

That makes it a policy issue.  She will support laws to that effect.

    That's an issue.

That her teachings, or lack of allowing teaching has rebounded into her own family is a caveat to the rest of us.

    Ignorance is not bliss.

The hypocrite is an overused word. Her policy is useless in the real world, but failing to recognize that and adjust to reality doesn't make her a hypocrite, it makes her judgment flawed.

  10. It did with Clinton and Edwards !!

  11. If you have nothing else and you're scared to death of her, you have to do something. The backlash will be severe from any woman, of any party that can even remotely relate to her.

The hypocricy of the left is being put out there for everyone to see. It's beautiful.

  12. Of course it doesn't. That's just the only thing dems can bash her about right now. they certainly can't use the inexperience factor because their own candidate Obama. He has no executive experience while she was governor of the largest state in the union...

  13. No it doesn't.  It's a bunch of c**p that this is even being brought up by the libtard left.

  14. No the pregnancy of a daughter should not be an issue just as d**k Cheney's daughters sexual preference should not be an issue.

I don't know which was worse, the liberal claiming that Trig was the actual baby of Bristol or now dragging her through the mud for being pregnant, they are acting like no Christian family has ever had s*x outside of marriage. I wonder how many of those that are bringing this up have had premarital s*x, my bet is that even Obama had Michelle had s*x before marriage.

Alan Keyes would have been a very good President, I voted for him in the primaries but since he didn't make it I don't want to waste my vote so I will vote McCain/Palin

  15. Family is ALWAYS an issue. That's politics. It's especially an issue when the candidate makes such an issue of his or her supposed high moral standards.  "Do as I say, not as I do"...sound familiar?

Where was this sainted family woman when her under-aged daughter was out with a boy getting naked and horizontal?  How can this candidate justify her consistent resistance to all forms of birth control and then prattle on about how her daughter "just made a little mistake?"  How can this self-righteous woman pretend her child's intention to marry the father of her illegitimate fetus makes it all okay?  That's right, a child is having a child.  What the h**l sort of life has that infant to look forward to living with a mother and father who haven't the slightest idea what adulthood is all about?  AND YOU WANT THIS SANCTIMONIOUS WOMAN TO BE YOUR VICE-PRESIDENT?  That's just plain NUTS!

  16. It has nothing to do with politics.  It's just a liberal talking point that Olbermann tells his sheeple to repeat over and over again.

  17. It should not be but the media will probably make it one.

  18. No.But Palin's hypocrisy does

  19. Dems and the media want to discredit Palin ASAP.

She is percieved as a threat so the gloves will come off quickly.

"What SHOULD be an issue is Palin's complete and utter lack of qualifications for VP".

And I suppose Obama is qualified to run for President........

  20. No, it is irrelevant
