  1. Nope.  Even a moron can be president.  See: George W Bush.

  2. Cause the voters are narrow minded and wouldn't want any unless they are Christian.

Even Mormons face discrimination, don't even talk about Hindus, Buddhists and Muslims.

  3. Really funny!

Obama is a Christian and has always been one!

But you are right about the constitution. The reason is they didn't believe that religion should play ANY part in the government. That is the reason most people fled to America.

    "Amendment One

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

This amendment was actually written to protect the government from religion, like the nice Catholic Kings in England who were killing Protestants!

  4. The answer is obvious, because of the narrow minded view of the public in our country.  h**l, at one time I bet no one could even image that a black man could become respected so highly as Martin Luther King but there we go.  And I am sure for those who lived in the times when there were white only bathrooms; did no one think there would be a black nominee for president.  One day the narrow mindedness will change but for the moment not now.

  5. No, the Constitution say there will be no religious litmus test for the presidency.

Although the overwhelming majority of the American people want a Christian leader, and this country is founded on "we the people" so if the people want that, that's the way it is.

I personally don't care if they are or aren't Christian or even religious for that matter. I decide based on their ideology, character, and voting record.

  6. its a little thing called 911

  7. NO the President doesn't have to be Christian. I don't think there is anything wrong with having a Muslim for President. However I do have a HUGE problem with OBAMA being President. I'm Christian.... so I'll pray that he doesn't win the election.

  8. Because it wasn't Christians who crashed planes into the World Trade Centers or the Pentagon or that lonely field in Pennsylvania

Here's the real problem. Muslim groups have not done enough to speak out against the radical acts that are happening on a daily basis around the world. And when you don't speak out against them, it's assumed that you CONDONE them.

The Washington Post recently reported on several accredited Muslim Schools right here in America.

One school outside Washington, D.C., uses textbooks teaching 11th graders that "the Day of Judgment can't come until Jesus Christ returns to Earth, breaks the cross and converts everyone to Islam, and until Muslims start attacking Jews."  That's an accredited school RIGHT HERE in the United States.

Several other schools have maps without Israel on them.

Other schools portray Osama Bin Laden as  "simply the victim of … prejudice against all Muslims in America."

We hear of suicide bombings on a daily basis from Radical Muslims who want to kill Christians, Jews, and basically anyone who isn't a Muslim. When asked about it, groups like CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) will issue a softly worded 'that's the BAD Muslims" release, and that's the end of it.

CAIR spends the rest of their day attacking issues like protecting Muslim cab drivers from discrimination in Minnesota. Seems they want to refuse to give taxi rides to anyone who has been drinking, or to the blind if they are assisted by a seeing eye dog (because they do not want a 'foul' animal in their cab).

So when it comes time to elect a President, and he's got a Muslim type name attached to him, Americans are a bit leery. Give 'em a break. Because CAIR and the Muslims in America certainly haven't done anything to convince America that we shouldn't be suspicious of them.

  9. Because the constitution [to some extent] was founded on Christianity. A  greater majority of this country is Christian and most [ not all] that aren't of this religion are foreigners. Aside from that I don't think a muslim can ever become president, because most americans associate this with terrorism. It surely isn't in the constitution but as well all know public opinion surely outweighs this and seeing how Christianity is the top religion in this country anyone that is elected would have to be, if they were to be in office. It's just how things work around here.

  10. I agree. We are about to have one anyway.
