Does the ps3 80 gb that sells for $399.99 come with a hdmi cable?

No it does not come with an HDMI cable, none of the PS3 models come with one. Any cheap HDMI cable will work though, so if you plan on getting one, don't let salesmen trick you into getting those 80-100 dollar cables. A $10 from monoprice.com will do just the same, etc.

This page shows everything that comes with it. It does not include an HDMI cable, but you can pick one up for around $10. You don't need to get "monster cables" as those can run $100 and up. Since it's digital, they all have the same output. The only difference is the durability, but that isn't an issue unless you plan to constantly transport your system AND your television. Any "cheapo" HDMI cable will work as well as the well known monster cables.

PS3s never came with an HDMI cable yet, and it will remain so. Sony wants to make money even of the HDMI cable.

By the way: looking for an HDMI cable, do NOT think the cheaper the worse. They're all the same, the only difference is whether the front plate of the connector is made of gold or copper. Actually gold is better, so just look for it in eBay.
