  1. Yes, because I was thinking about transit when I chose where to live.   Most people shop houses by driving around in their car, they never think to check a transit map and so they get sold a place where transit doesn't work. Whoops!

I used to live in the city where owning a car was just stupid.  Now I live in a near suburb where there's a bus direct to the city, or a bus to commuter trains that go all over the region.  Not a problem.

  2. No, you can expect to get satisfied with public transit system, as it has its own limitations. The limitations may be listed with the distance in between both your points, timings and your need. It will be satisfactory only if the Transit system covers the entire part of the city you live. I live in New Delhi, we have metro rail. But it covers only a part of Delhi. It will take another few more years to connect the complete part of Delhi. Once when it connects all the areas, It will really suit everybody. Major advantage in Public transit is saving money when compared to private transit, or personal transit system.

In countries where it is connected well has proved to be a successful one. But for the place I live in, I will have to wait for a while.

    Hope this will satisfy you?
