I'm 14, never touched alcohol, drugs, etc. I have a 4.0 GPA and an overall good reputation. Really I'm not a bad kid.

This guy in my class threw a party tonight. It was a movie party in his backyard. The catch: the movie was Legally Blonde, there was no audio, and it was mostly guys. Totally lame.

I sat through it for about an hour, teetering on the brink of insanity, until finally I got a few of my friends to walk across the street to the park with me. We sat in a playhouse, talked about high school, and returned 30 minutes later. We didn't smoke, drink, or anything. No kissing, s*x, or anything else that would be a cause for worry. I didn't do anything that I wouldn't let my priest see.

So then I get home. Everything's fine until my parents tell me they got a call from "a parent". After checking caller ID I learned that it was the boy's parents who arranged the party. The result? I'm getting yelled at and will possibly be grounded.

Does the punishment fit the crime?

  1. probably one of the other kids got caught using drugs and probably blamed u on something but i dont think u should be punished since ur parents dont really know if u did do it

  2. If you did nothing illegal or wrong then no you shouldn't be punished.

  3. Not at all.  But what exactly were the concerns of the boy's parents anyway?  You didn't even seem like you were really at the party.  Can you tell your parents that?
