Our caring and compassionate Queen certainly DOES give some of her £4,000 billion fortune to the needy!

During 2006, she gave Crackpot Charlie £10 million, Bandy Andy £6 million and Steady Eddy £6 million. Canny Annie received nothing. Her Majesty also graciously gave £5 to Help the Aged.

This should lay to rest the scurrilous insinuations that our glorious sovereign does not care about the needy!

she gives out a few million a year...but you're forgetting something...she's greedy for the money she didn't even earn, and she doesn't care enough about her people to give HER money away!

the united kingdom have a very good social security system that should look after all the little surfs in England.  

In addition the queen employs a lot of people and provides a tourist attraction to the united kingdom.

I tin she keeps the jest and planes too. One has to consider that most of the cash is tied up in castles and lands but even so other queens and kings don't have it so good with the readies

Neither does Her Majesty have 4 billion nor do I think that she is on the mailing list of Oxfam. But it is known that she donates money, i. e. for the victims of the London bombings in July 2005.

However, donating money to some charities could be interpreted as a political statement. Giving something to one group could upset others that don't receive anything or less. The Queen and all members of the Royal Family are patrons of charity organisations and dedicate time and effort to these organisations.

By the way, I have never heard that US president George Bush, who also owns millions, ever donated something to the needy. But you should ask a republican head of state the same question as soon as possible.
