Does the "average" person really indulge in self-pleasuring?

This is defined in a dictionary as "self-abuse." I admit I do it, but I wonder if I'm a pervert. I've read that 80% of males do it, 69% of females. Do those figures sound right? I can't imagine my mother or girlfriend doing it. Or my sisters either.

80% of males do it and the other 20% are lying about it.  More than 69% of women do it...but because of social views surrounding it, they rarely admit it..I am sure its closer to 90%

And I have NO idea what dictionary you are using it that call it "self-Abuse", certainly none that I ever saw

hahaahahaaa 69% sounds pretty low to me.  A lot of men out there seem to think that women don't m********e... or f**t ... or burp but I'm here to tell you, we do!

Its not self abuse, You're not a pervert. It is perfectly normal.... Its a natural normal thing, Most people do it (even those in relationships!) Best not to think about family members doing it, but it is ok to think about your girlfriend doing it.. again, totally normal and you're not a pervert..

Somehow I think those numbers are low.  It is a very natural and normal thing for someone to do, and nothing to be ashamed of.  Whether or not you can imagine your mother or sister doing it (Probably a good thing) doesn't matter.  You aren't a pervert, and you should have learned a long time ago that this is very normal.  Many other species other than humans indulge in masturbation.

Well Jack, I do it and have for a long time. I am sure there are some how don't but not many. I wouldn't call it self abuse, I would call it self pleasure.

In my stress filled environment I like to get a little jerk before work. I have even gone as far as lighting a candle and playing music (hopeless romantic). Heck, if I can help out my girlfriends with their "self-abuse" I will. Your not a perv, but you do need to get indulge to your instincts. Grab it like a rabbit, beat it like it owes you money. I think most people do it. It doesn't make you a pervert, it's perfectly natural most therapists will tell you it's healthy.
