Does the "i" in Apple Products (the iPod, iPhone, etc.) stand for anything?

  1. The first Apple "i" product was the iMac, which came out 10 years ago this month (in a choice of flavours). It stood then for "internet" because it signified that all new Macs would offer built-in internet connectivity. A great marketing move, as it turned out.

    I really hate the way that other companies all jumped on the bandwagon - even the BBC, which uses "iPlayer" for its online media playback. Can't they think of anything original after 10 years?
