Does the rest of NZ think 'Brad Thorn' deserves a chance at the AB's?

I think not! he's not loyal to Rugby Union, we have way more guys at home who can take his place, it's unfair he can just move back into league, then back to union and expect to make the AB's. What a cheek!!!!!

  1. What rubbish he is a pro sportsman! tell me why Leon Mcdonald deserves a spot then? he went off to Japan and came back and got a spot, why dont you question his loyalty! What about Carter and Mcalister when they come back?

Brad Thorn is a 100% pure athlete amazingly fit and trains like he loves it! he is someone younger players should be looking up to and admiring for his athletism and professionilsm. He is an amazing athlete who is committed to the NZ till 2009, there was no hard in his move back to league when he did Henry didnt want him anyway.

Look at the shape and form he came in, Henry should be on the phone to Bennett and the Bronocs saying that you! look at his work ethic he can do no wrong! we need more player with his atitude and to train like he does and play like he does. Having him in the ABs he should provide leadership and someone to admire and look up to for new guys how could you not admire or look up to him if you were a young up and comer?

  2. He certainly deserves to be there.I had my reservations when he returned, but he & Ali are the best stand out locks. His tackling, work rate & committment is second to none.In this day & age of professional sport money is the object of the game, players do not like getting smashed & injured for love, money soothes the pain.Thats why they chase the big bucks, they only have limited time. The glory days of club, Ranfurly  Shield as i knew it & Provincal rugby will never be the same as rugby becomes more professional.Thats just the way it is,sign of the times.

  3. jerry collins, chris masoe, rodney so'oialo, sione lauaki, liam messam, tanerau latimer, jerome kaino, ali williams, jason eaton, james ryan, ross filipo, brad thorn is a giant but hes in line behind all them players if he wants a all black jersey

  4. Why in the title to this blog did you put 'Brad Thorn'?

I don't think Brad expects to make the AB's at all, I think that is a stupidly naive assumption you are making yourself and projecting that assumption on to Brad.

Who said loyalty counted for anything? Now days it's all about money.

And if he is the best in the country for his position, why overlook him simply because of his League ties? If Ritchie McCaw went back and forth I am more then certain no one would care.

  5. No.There are other players more loyal to NZ Rugby than him.

  6. We need Brad Thorn. Aus attitudes have won them 2 World cups. Our cry baby momas boys dont even have the bottle to win a game of chance

  7. I think so he brings in the bronco attitude and the league culture to be successful in both code. The way he's playing @ the moment is awesome to watch and to me I think he deserves is chance in the black jersey.

So better watch out to those BOks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. I am not sure that we need him, but I think the NZ rugby public want him.  He is a hard player, and I think just what we need for a team that is filled with "mamma's boys". I think that Ali Williams and Thorn locking together, with Troy Flavell on the bench might just give the All Blacks that little bit of mongrel that has been missing in recent years.  It is the hard nosed attitude of the Wallabies and the Springboks that have got them where they are.  We need to get rid of the PC c**p that has invaded the game here and play to win, and we need to select the players that can do that for us.  Brad Thorn is one of those players.

  9. Of course he does, so what if he switched codes he's back again now and we will be better off for having him.

  10. Yeah I do. There is a serious lack of quality locks in NZ after the departure/ retirements of some of our best. In reality the selectors will pick 4 locks and Ali is a shoe in and what other three could you pick? Eaton one. Donnolly. I wouldn't pick Flavell even if I did rate him because he's off overseas again. Possibly Filipo, but he is playing second string behind Thorn at the Crusaders anyway. We need to pick the best we can for the ABs and being grumpy with Thorn because he played league is not a good enough reason not to pick him.
