  1. No, because they need to rest.

  2. it depends on how long the flight is and how many other legs they have flown that day if its a really long flight they will have 4 pilots instead of the normal two that way they can rotate out because of laws and regulations

    hope this helps :)

  3. not necessarily. You could not pull it off on, say, a transatlantic flight

  4. If you mean, stay in the cockpit, so to speak,(commercial) yes, but mostly on shorter regional routes where the total time in cockpit (24-HR DAY) will not exceed enforced maximums.

  5. depents on the length of the flight.

for example, if it is a charter flight of 3 hours to a vacation destination, the same crew comes back. if it is an oversea flight of 12 hours, the crew will change unless the return flight is on the next day.

  6. It depends on the airline, route and how long the crew has been working.

On commuter airlines (or commuter flights for large airlines) the same crew may fly the same route several times a day.  On a regional or commuter flight it is possible to have the same crew on different days.  I had the same crew on my flights between Dallas and Killeen, TX a week apart.

Most often, a crew will work a series of short to medium lenght flights then have a layover for 8+ hours before reporting for their next flight.  On longer flights (from Hawaii to the mainland or across the US for example) the crew will only work that flight before having a layover.

On flights over 8 hours there will be two crews who work and switch midway through the flight.  These are usually trans-oceanic flights.

  7. It's up to the crew themselves, if it is a short flight they may remain on the plane, but im sure a flight attendent would'nt want to fly a 14-hour flight again!

  8. Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

  9. DEPENDS ON THERE WORK HOURS
