Does the sand ruin the bottom surface of a snowboard?

i want to bring my snowboardto the dunes but i dont want to ruin it for the snow

think about it sand is crumbled rock so you would be virtually boarding down rock so you figure it out(no offence meant)

despite scratching your snowboard a lot, i don't think you would be able do board down the sand because you would need a larger board for the sand.
