  1. Most schools will allow you to attend another school district.  In fact, in the Ohio county where I lived, your child could be enrolled in any school as long as you provided transportation.  The school had to accept the student, no behavior problems.  This was to give the schools more accountability, parents had the freedom to pull their child out if that school was not doing a good job.

  2. Our school district does. They can go to another school upon approval of the school board but you have to pay tuition.

  3. We moved out of one school district and into another one just before my youngest finished his Junior year in high school.  We actually only moved about 20 minutes away, but it put us into a different school district.

When we first moved, we just didn't tell them.  Before his senior year started though, I contacted the original school district and asked them how I would go about keeping my son in their school district so he could finish with all of his friends.  They told me to contact the district that we had moved into and get a waiver from them and that if the current school district agreed to give us a waiver then the old school district would be willing to allow my son to finish in their district.

So, I went to the current district.  They asked me if my son had been enrolled in any special education programs.  I said, no, why?  They said that if he had been then they wouldn't allow him to get a waiver because the school districts receive state money for special education students and they wanted that money.  But since my son had not been in any special education classes, then yes, they would grant the waiver, but I would have to provide the transportation.  That wasn't a problem.

Then I took the waiver to the old school district and he was accepted by them.  It did not cost us anything except the gas for the car.

I live in Washington State near Tacoma.

  4. The school district that you wish to go to will determine if you will be admitted and if there will be a monetary charge./
