  1. Yes they do get hot and also I recommend that you get it calibrated. It will make your plasma last longer, use less energy and of course not get hot. It also gives you a even better pic!! The blacks and whites are more true. Best Buy offers it for the cheapest, but not all of them are doing it just yet. I would Call your local best buy and the geek squad dose it. they come to you. I wanna say its around 200 bucks.

  4. It does get hot yes, not burning hot that could hurt you aslong as the airvents at the back of the TV are not covered its nothing to worry about.

  6. A Plasma screen TV builds a LOT of heat. When in a store, place you hand over the top vents and feel the heat being given off as compared to the LCD or the DLP format. It is enough to warp and/or ruin the wood furniture you place it in.
