  1. It's wrong to cheat but its not fair that the drivers have to be on probation now they didn't know their team did that. i think Nascar went way over board but since its Joe gibbs first time ever getting caught cheating they wanted to make it extra harsh i guess. JGR is dominating this year in the nationwide series and with K. Bush in the sprint cup series. but in my opinion if that was any other team like Hendricks the penalty would't have been that harsh.

  2. Gloria got SCREWED big time!! Some pathetic low life troll had her account suspended!!!

As far as whether the punishment fit the crime, I think NASCAR was trying to make an example out of JGR.

Joe and JD Gibbs are good people, and they have accepted responsibility and the consequences NASCAR has handed down to them..

Edit: A few too many, if you allowed e-mail I'd tell you.

    It's NOT who you think!!!!!

  3. i think the punishment is what it is. cheating on the track by pushing a gray area or whatever is one thing. trying to make modifications after a race to circumvent equipment meant to test cars by the regulating body is a whole other level.

heck, it was bad when the haas-cnc cars in the sprint cup modified their cars after their initial inspection; this is not only worse (although in some people's minds "somewhat justified"), it was dumb. the stupidity penalty applies. yes, it seems harsh, especially for the nationwide series, but like i said above, this was not just pushing the envelope too far, this was blatant and unnecessary disregard and disrespect for the sanctioning body, and they don't tend to take lightly to that.

i'm a huge jgr fan, although i may understand their frustration and feel for them in what they were attempting to do, it does not justify their actions. i do believe the driver penalties are unjustified, but they don't really mean a lot in the long run. and it is a team sport, so if some members of the team messed up, the rest of the team pays. that's how it has always been. as for the suspensions, they are what they are. it was an egregious offense, far more so than having a roof that's too low or something like that, so like i said at the beginning, the penalty is what it is.

EDIT: i had to ditch the mag..., errr, horseshoe. they were right - it was bad luck; look what happened to the last guys who were playing with mag..., errr horseshoes...

    ;-)

  4. no... penalized for following the rules and penalized for breaking a NON-rule! This was just a JGR restricter plate! How are they testing these cars anyways? If they are using a person to push on the gas for the Dyno that doesn't sound very controlled! If they want a TRUE Dyno test pull the motor, hook it up to a computer, and have an accurate test!

  5. No, I don't think NASCAR went overboard on this. IMO, the penalties are good enough, but I do see some people losing their jobs in JGR. Not to mention, Toyota ( espically JGR ) won't have as much dominance in  NASCAR ( and not only that, but Jack Roush and Richard Childress called out Toyota's bull you know what )!

  6. you cheat you bound to get beat -literally

  7. Yes, I really think they did, but they are making a statement to all the other teams..NO CHEATING ALLOWED!

(others lucky..not to have gotten caught)

Hate it for the drivers, they did not deserve points taken away and Indefinite suspension????? what the heck is that..new  rule from hidden book??

YES way overboard in my opinion

  8. Winter Glory! Which multi accounted user on here got Gloria suspended?   (I bet he constantly bashes Jr)

I haven't read up on the penalties yet but I do remember everybody being told that the penalties will continue to get worse until the cheating stops. Some of the penalties are rediculas especially for words or non-performance enhancing changes. I don't know. Heck! all the teams cheat, some are just better at not getting caught and some yell louder than others to get others caught. Esentially screaming fire while holding the matches!

  9. Don`t do the crime if you can`t do the time. It was justified. I read Coach Gibbs was going to add to it.

  10. I think it does. It could have been worse.

  11. Not harsh enough IMO! The Crew chiefs should have had $100,000 fines each. The remaining 5 crew members should have been fined $50,000 each. All persons suspended should have a min. of 1 year suspension. Instead of driver points being docked, should of doubled up the owner points penalty to 300 points for each car.

This is not like an issue of ride height, or fenders not fitting templates (which are "grey area" rules), this was a 100% blatant attempt to manipulate the outcome a Nascar ordered dyno test. The people involved knew what they were trying do was wrong.

I am not a fan of JGR but I also don't hate them as race teams. As someone else said the penalties are what they are now. I just hope the team can over come this quickly. JGR is a highly respected organization and I have no doubt in time, his and son J.D. images will be restored. His comments about imposing his own penalties to the people involved on top of what NASCAR issued was certainly a huge step in the right direction.

  12. i think it was about right. the driver should not be punished. toyota and jgr should not have a problem with nascar making the plate a little smaller. its been in the rule book that nascar has the right to equal out the competition. it was there before toyota even thought about getting in nascar. all the team in nascar know that. and if jgr had the plate on the car why would they have to hide hp.
