Question:

Does the shimano dx clipless shoes have to go with the shimano dx pedals??

im getting clip in shoes for bmxing and i just saw the shoes but wasnt sure if u needed to get the pedals to.

  1. If you're going clipless, you can use any clipless shoe for the pedals....you don't have to use the shimano shoe.  Just be sure that the sole of the shoe has the right bolt pattern to match the cleats that are used with the pedal (the DX, like almost all mountain/dirt pedals, uses the normal 2-bolt "SPD" type cleat, and about 99% of shoes will accept that).

    If you're buying the shoes first, then of course you'll need the pedals, too.....otherwise it's just a shoe with nothing to clip in to!   :o)   Pedals come with the cleats (the shoes don't include anything but....shoes).  There are lots of pedals out there....take a look around.  If you're trying to keep your bike light, consider getting a magnesium pedal.
