Does the sound volume on your TV go up during certain commericals?

  1. I've noticed that too...especially with local TV ads.  I don't think there's anything you can do, other than to mute the TV during all commercial breaks.

  3. I know its so annoying but there are some TVs that have an option that stops this, I baught it and I was supprised to find this option on it. You just have to ask the next time you buy a TV, Video, DVD, or sound system to see if its one of the options.

  5. The audio on commercials is compressed to the point where the "quiet" parts are loud, and the "loud" parts are as loud as your TV's volume setting allows. Just another way they try to get your attention. The Mute button works great!
