Does the state of Idaho pay Medicare insurance premiums?

The Social Security Administration has sent out a letter dated March 24, 2008, that states that the state of Idaho will no longer pay Medicare insurance premiums, so the Social Security Administration is now deducting additional money from its award to a person, to cover what the state of Idaho will no longer cover. How does all that work?

  1. The vast majority of medicare costs are paid by the TAXPAYER, not the recipient.

Then the recipient pays a fraction of the premium.  That's how it works.
