I understand that governors and mayors of major cities in the US are appointed a home where they live during their term? I'm curious to know if the mayor of Chicago in particular is appointed a residence or if he/she lives in his/her own home.

  1. No, the mayor of Chicago is not appointed a residence.  Governors are, and I know the mayor of NYC has a residence (Gracie Mansion) but most mayors do not.
