  1. Sweet wine and alcopops tend to give me a headache for some reason but aside from that there's no difference for me, sweet beer and liquor have no adverse affect on me at all.  Kind of odd when I think about it.

  2. No.  The sugar content does not effect the alcohol content or effect in any way.

  3. Sugar doesn't affect alcohol, but can obviously affect the drinker.  Excess sugar can cause a tummy ache, making it easier for the drinker to get sick.

  4. sugar spikes your insulin helping to transport the alcohol into your bloodstream quicker.

  6. yes i find htat when I consume something sweet along with alcohol it seems to make me drunker. doesnt cause headaches though like a lot of peopel say, except if youre drinking in excess, which is your problem right there!

  7. It should not affect the effect of alcohol on the person.

People get sugar rushes from sudden intake of energy, so similar to redbull and vodka, sugary drinks might stave off inebriation.  That being said, they also lead (quickly) to a sugar crash, so that is probably a moot point.

For really sweet brewed beverages, the presence of a lot of sugar can indicate a lower alcohol content, because the yeast in the beer/cider/wine feeds off of the sugar, producing alcohol as a waste bi-product.

(This only matters for brewed beverages, not distilled ones, like liquor).

A little off topic, but I thought I'd throw it in.

  8. the correct answer is,yes!sugar will carry the alcohol into your bloodstream 25 to 35 %faster than a nonsweetened drink, then if you add a carbonated mix to that you can add another 12 to 15 %  increase in delivery speed ,and you might want to keep some aspirin handy for the headache you are going to have

  9. It won't change it or neutralize it, if that's what you're looking for.  It will only make the drink taste sweeter.
