Does the sugar in alcohol count as refined sugar?

  1. Its all simple fruit sugar, there's no mechanical refining process involved.


  2. Yes & No

    Yes sometimes because the brewers sometimes adds refined sugars to their brewers log (recipe). Most rums are made for refined sugars.

    No because in a modern-traditional beer only grains are used for the fermentable sugar source and they are not refined sugars. Grapes used in winemaking are natural and not refined.

    There are more examples but I think this covers the basic idea.
