    The suns energy is from FUSION reactions.  The sun is in what is called the Hydrogen Burn stage, where hydrogen atoms are FUSED to make Helium  atoms.

    FISSION is where a single atom is split to make two or mor smaller atoms.  FUSION is where two small atoms are jammed together to make a slightly larger atom.  This "jamming together" of atoms is priomarily caused by the immense gravity at the center of the sun.

  4. No. The sun gives off energy due to nuclear fusion. The sun uses fusion of hydrogen atoms into helium atoms.
