  2. Dehydration synthesis: is an anabolic process by which two molecules are chemically bonded through the use of enzymes, ATP, and a loss of water.

    glucose + glucose + enzyme + ATP = maltose + water + enzyme.



    ATP is the energy used to allow the reaction to run to completion.

  3. It requires energy. It takes work to put things together which is what you are doing in macromolecule synthesis.
