Say you live in Dallas and you have an audition in LA..

Is everything (from gas to hotel) all the clients responsibility? Or does the agency help out in any way?

  1. If the specificly asked you to come and try out then they might pay for everything. Otherwise, its all you. Try calling them and asking them. If it's just an agency then if you make it your going to have to be going back in forth out of your own pocket. Try looking for something closer to home.

  2. No, the agencies will not pay for your traveling expenses. Most likely an agent would not send you on an audition that far away. The casting directors have enough local actors in L.A. to chose from. If a casting director was dying to read you for a part your agent might be able to finagle the cost of a hotel out of them but even that is rare.
