Does the the Mexican flag flies in the town center of Clifden, Connemara, County Galway, Ireland?

  2. The people of Clifden are proud that John Riley fought and led the San Patricios. As such a monument was erected in the town centre and the Mexican flag is flown.

                  I myself, am a man from County Galway, and I am ashamed to admit that I have no knowledge of John Riley from Clifden, and his adventure against America for San Patricos' Army, but you have given me food for thought and I am going to research that piece of history, and find meself another Irish Hero, to place in the same ranks as my Father, for me my Father was my greatest boyhood Hero, sadly he is only part of my family history now, and only fought against the germans in World War Two, when the might of Hitlers Kriegs- Marine failed to hurt him as they sunk Hitlers U-boat first.. hail my Father, my conquering Hero. complete with his medal!.......Tony M...
