  1. people who need to escape from real life are not usually very good actors.  acting takes good mental and physical health

  2. If given the chance, i'd love to, sounds like great fun!

  3. I would love to get into acting, just being able to have the chance to perform and experience something i enjoy doing would be amazing. I would much prefer to be a SUCCESSFUL actress rather than a FAMOUS because then I know that I will have achieved something special.

  4. The idea of acting in theatre is more appealing to me. I'd love to but to get there I suppose you've got to be in films or on TV too.

  5. i'd like to be a hugely famous actress, but i cant be bothered with all the in between stuff. I dont want to have to WORK towards being rich and famous! i just want it to happen!

  7. As a "POLL" question, and given the fact that you have been involved in both, and state ESCAPE, I think that might be a balance of why people get involved in ACTING, in a general sense.

So much of IT has to be enveloped in a passion for it, not just playing dress up. To have the sense that one must escape from their REALITY, suggests other, possible issues.

Obviously to be valid and viable in either genre, one should BE the character, Live as the character, and be believable to any who view the character. Sadly, many at the top, may have slipped into the $$$ zone.

Another obvious factor are the differences. Live performance theatre is always subject to OOOPS in the immediate sense, without any means of retracting. Film is exactly otherwise. "CUT, Scene 34, TAKE 134, Action" The context, concept, and end result may be similar, but to be on film, also equates to a lot of Hurry Up and Wait, unlike theatre.
