yes they known as the "eagles"

they were in the world cup played in france in october 2007.lost narrowly to england, tonga and samoa and got hammered by world champions south africa. they have never qualified from the pool/group stages of a world cup.

they play canada regularly (every year) and irish scots and english b /second string teams in the churchill cup held in north america annually (sometimes bi-annually)

there is a league in america as well that has canadian and american teams called the super -10 i think

Yes. The US has many local clubs and a number of leagues throughout the country. Unfortunately the sport is sort of in the dark, but those who do play it tend to really love the sport and it has a very loyal following.I foresee that rugby USA will improve a lot in the next 2 decades.

Yes. They competed at the world cup. They aren't very good though because most American athletes play football. We (the Ontario under 17 provincial team) beat them at Elkart Indiana this year.

Yes, they are called the Eagles.  They have qualified for every world cup so far.  Though they are not very competitive.  Many countries support professional leagues while the US is still quite a ways off from one.  

Here's a link of them playing against south africa in world cup 2007.  It gives a hint of the potential of the US.  Ngwenya burns Habana from South Africa on the outside - habana is often pegged as the fastest player in world rugby.

edit - Bradley:  The league is called Super League and currently features 18 clubs from across the states.  Just to make it clear, this league is amateur.  Canada's league is semi-professional in that a couple of their clubs pay for some foreign players to play for their clubs, but most of their clubs membership are amateur as well.
