  1. This actually depends on the branch.  The Army has become the most receptive in recent years and the Marines are still the least receptive.  It would be incorrect to simply say, "Oh sure they will!"  Go to a few recruiters and find out what they all say.  You can go to one recruiter and get one answer and yet get a different answer from another.  Do your research.  The level of excitement at which you are welcomed as a home schooler will vary from recruiter to recruiter and branch to branch so don't stop at the first, "no" you get.  It may happen, though, especially if you want to join the Marines, so be ready with documentation of your high school years.  Your ASFAB scores should be enough to get you into the other branches.

  2. Yes, they do.

Contact the Home School Legal Defense at http://www.hslda.org

They can provide you with the information about a special program regarding home schooled students, and military service.

Recruiters are often unaware of rules regarding home schooled students, so do your home work to get the best possible enlistment.

This site may help as well, since it is geared especially for military families who home school.

  3. The Military would be happy to recruit any student.  It doesn't matter where they are schooled.  Just contact a recruiter if you are interested.

    GO ARMY!!!!!!!!!!

  4. I understand that the military is the only place homeschoolered kids seem to not do as well as public schooled kids.  But, I do know of some who have gone into the military.

  5. I would imagine they'd want all the cannon fodder they can get...

  6. Call your recruiter. They don't care how you got your diploma.

  7. yes, the military doesnt care how u get your diploma, as long as u get it  you'll be fine. im home schooled and i got in.

  8. As far as I know, as long as you have completed a high school program, you can join. I personally know of someone who was homeschooled 2nd grade through high school, went to college, and is now in the Coast Guard. Check with the military branch you are interested in, they will give you all the info you need :)

This site lets you get information from any & all of the branches. Check it out... https://secure.military.com/Recruiting/p...

  9. I can vouch for Air Force and Navy accepting them. My daughter was told as long as her grades where good and her SAT scores where good, not problem. She actually is going into the ROTC program at our local college for the Air Force.
